Safety, Reliability and Versatility
TEMEC CMXT Autonomous Gate
Guarantee of constant regulation of upstream and downstream levels, to obtain reserve storages in the canal. Completely autonomous, robust and reliable solution.
t allows modifying the regulated levels by manual or automated set point changes.
► Features
These solutions propose creating reserve volumes in canals, using one or more gates controlled by floats and ballast weights, designed to maintain a specific flow downstream in a precise way and at the same time allow for the reserve of excess transitory flows upstream of the facility.
These gates can automatically adjust the levels, operating autonomously in a similar way to AB1, AB2 or AB3 gates. The additional advantage is their ability to set the reserve level and establish a circulation flow rate, adjustable as needed. This configuration can be done manually or with the automation of small devices inside the gate. This automation focuses on the management of the set point change, not on the adjustment operations of the gate itself to fluctuations in the water source, a situation that will always continue autonomously by the gate's floats, ensuring efficient, smooth and reliable operation in the most severe weather conditions.
In pumping systems with topographical conditions, the seasonal variability in water consumption allows the use of pumps to optimize the use of canals with a strategic volume. MXT gates are ideal for this purpose, as they allow the canal to be staggered to accumulate volume, taking advantage of both optimum situations, pumping flow rate and low-cost energy hours.
This approach involves filling the canal rapidly in periods of low energy cost and then allowing it to slowly decrease, generating a progressive downstream to upstream water level wave. When this wave reaches the beginning of the canal, it triggers the use of the pumps. The MXT gates, because they are mixed level control, also make it possible to maintain the water level for pumping use, ensuring a constant ANPA in case of pumping from the main Canal. In addition, zero-slope canals can be designed with reverse flow, where the energy gradient determines the direction of flow and is defined by the different energy levels of the gates.
The absence of motors and sensors contributes to the robustness and reliability of this equipment.

Safety and Reliability
TEMEC CAB1, CAB2 & CAB3 Autonomous Gates
Guarantee of constant downstream level regulation, to achieve reserve storage in the own canal. Completely autonomous, robust and reliable solution.
This solution does not allow modification of the regulated levels once they have been set at the construction site.
► Features
These solutions propose the generation of reserve volumes in canals, through the use of float-controlled gates and ballast weights, designed to maintain a constant downstream level in order to adjust supply to demand. in this situation, the canal will gradually fill, from downstream to upstream, when demand is less than supply. Once all volumes are full, the excess flow should be diverted through designated drains. If the intake level is at equilibrium, then no more water will be collected than necessary, all in an autonomous way without any manual operations.
In case the demand exceeds the supply and the reserves are sufficient, the level will drop from upstream to downstream in the canal, complementing the required flows. The operating reserves are the water "wedges" between the water level at Qmax and that at Qo. Gates AB1, AB2 and AB3 are particularly appropriate for the regulation of open canales from downstream.
The distance between the gates, determined by their admitted head, will influence the volume stored, being greater when the slope of the canal that separates them is lower. The choice between AB1, AB2 and AB3 will depend on the slope between the different wedges.
The absence of motors and sensors contributes to the robustness and reliability of this equipment.
This equipment associated with other elements such as Distributors (TEMEC's Módulos de Orificio), Slide Gates, Weirs, and others, provide the capacity to manage the necessary flow to be diverted with precision, thanks to knowing the controlled level downstream of the gate. This solution does not allow for set point changes on the regulated level in case the client requires it, because it is a set parameter once the civil work is defined.

Adaptable to existing projects
Automated with Slide or Sector Gates
For canals with expected flow, with Slide Gates or Radial Gates to guarantee a reserve in the own canal. Manual or automated solution.
This solution allows the equipment to be connected to new or existing remote control systems.
► Features
These solutions propose the creation of reserve volumes in canals, using slide or radial gates if the flow rate is stable and predictable. In most cases, when these conditions are not satisfied or a change to an "on-demand" strategy is required, there are other possible solutions (see autonomous solutions with TEMEC equipment).
They are manufactured to request, so they can be perfectly adapted to the existing civil works forms. These devices open or close in an automated way following commands that have been set in the remote control system. They also allow local manual operation.
