Hooded Self-Centering Disc Valve with Electric Actuator

► Function

These equipments are installed in pressure pipe outlets. They allow to maintain a level in a chamber, independently of the flow rate circulating in the pipe or the upstream pressure, manually or electrically actuated.

  • Works as an energy dissipator of the water at the outlet of a pipeline.
  • They equalize the flow rate of the upstream pipeline with the flow rate consumed downstream.
  • They guarantee a maximum level in the dissipation chamber.

► Application

  1. Regulation of outflows from dams, reservoirs, pipelines, to adjust them to the demand.
  2. Pressure staggering with atmospheric head break in steeply sloping pipelines.
  3. Forced pipeline protection in hydroelectric power plants, with head breakage for controlled draining.

► Features and Tips for use

Inspired by a simple hydraulic design, they are fully automatable, robust and devoid of any mechanical complication, which allows them to adapt to the most severe working conditions.

Features

  • Precise and robust mechanism.
  • No water hammer is produced in the conduction.
  • No cavitation is produced independent of the opening rate and the energy to be dissipated.
  • Wear resistant.
  • Low and simple maintenance.
  • High sealing capacity with METAL-RUBBER seal.
  • Wide range of flow rates and dissipation charges (up to 250 m.c.a. and 500mm pipe diameter).
  • Smaller stilling pool size with respect to ODSF.
  • Promotes Environmental Sustainability (efficient use of water)

Tips about use

  • They are an alternative to other mechanical elements such as ring-seal valves, globe valves, Howell-Bunger and with better cavitation performance.
  • Recommended for optimizing the number of elements for breaking the charge in a long, steeply sloping pipeline.
  • Actuator to be included must have a minimum IP67 protection category and remote control.
  • A maintenance walkway is recommended.

Multiorifice Regulation Valve

► Function

These devices are installed in pressurized pipelines. They allow precise regulation of pressure or other parameters (flow rate, temperature, etc.) in closed pipelines and allow gradual and customized pressure reductions. They can be installed in complex pressurized systems and work altogether to maintain the desired pressure throughout the network, independent of the local consumption in a sector of the system.

  • Guarantee to maintain an expected pressure in the pressurized system
  • They allow to generate a single point loss of head and then to be modified in a simple and actuated way.
  • Cavitation effects in pipelines are eliminated.

► Application

  1. Fluid distribution networks with pressure and/or flow rate variation.
  2. Distribution, cooling and mixing hydraulic circuits.
  3. Intake to water treatment plants.
  4. Draining of pressurized pipelines.
  5. Hydraulic laboratories.

► Features and Tips for use

Inspired by a simple hydraulic design, they are fully automatable, robust and devoid of any mechanical complication, which allows them to adapt to the most severe working conditions.

Features

  • Precise and robust mechanism.
  • Excellent cavitation coefficient.
  • High sensitivity to small variations of its openness.
  • "Anti-water hammer" effect. Setting of the operating time.
  • Reduced dimensions between flanges (wafer).
  • Reduced weight compared to other valves for equivalent function.
  • Known contraction coefficient at all positions to determine the flow rate.
  • No vapor bubbles are generated.
  • Less downstream piping length is required to dissipate turbulence than other valves of equivalent function.

A tener en cuenta

  • The valves are mounted between flanges or at the end of pipelines.
  • Telescopic reel assembly is recommended for eventual disassembly.
  • It requires a certain quality of fluid filtration and is not recommended for wastewater.
  • For vertical mounting, they are preferably mounted so that the flow is downward.
  • For horizontal mounting, the actuator or manual control must be at the top to allow for the purging operation.
